Originality: Original

Description: An original steering wheel center button which was original equipment on 1965 GT350s as well as all 427 Cobras from 1965 to 1967. These buttons have been reproduced many times over the years but every version of reproduction can be easily ascertained by a casual glance at the steering wheel. These original emblems have a chrome “double step” outer ring to the Cobra emblem incapsulated in the acrylic of the emblem and it has the property fonts to the word “Cobra” as well as the proper chrome paint used as opposed to more of a silver paint used on the most recent run of reproductions.

No chips around the outside as most of these originals have, some crazing in the center which is tough to see when looking at the emblem head on. The last one of these I sold which was “perfect” or near perfect sold for $3500 and that was 3 years ago. Would be more now.

This is a great steering wheel emblem to use in any 65 GT350 or 427 Cobra. If you have a concours car, you can get full points using the current reproduction during judging. My own personal preference- a slightly imperfect original part is always better than a reproduction, though. Overall this is an extremely nice steering wheel center which is ready to compliment your 65 GT350 or Cobra.
